Turn on do-not-disturb and no notifications are sent for the period you choose. Nothing is lost — you see everything when you come back, you just are not interrupted at the time.
This also silences email; it is meant for focus time or holidays.
Be careful with it while you are on call — incident notifications need to reach you.
